Campfire Cooking

  • Texas style meals - prepared and served at your own location, a site of your choosing, or in my orchard.
  • Extensive menus - with original recipes and some from the most famous and finest Texas cooks.
  • Your choice - intimate meals at home, family gatherings and reunions, backyard parties, company picnics, corporate events, hunting camps, fund raisers.
  • Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner - small or large groups.
  • My service and your gift - all proceeds, after direct costs are covered, benefit your choice of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, San Angelo Rotary Scholarship Fund, or House of Faith of San Angelo. This is one way my service can benefit three causes that make the world a little better and have special meaning to me.
    • Cowboy movie and singing star Rex Allen once described the West Texas Rehab as "the purest charity I've ever known" and it's building as "the house that love built."  It has been sustained for over 50 years by a philosophy of neighbor helping neighbor. Over 21,000 people a year are served by a wide array of outpatient rehabilitative and related services, and in all its history, no one has ever been denied service because of an inability to pay.
    • The motto of Rotary International is "Service Above Self" and I am particularly keen on that concept. My Rotary club has created an endowment fund to provide post-secondary scholarships to persons whose life path may have been rough, whose circumstances may be tough, and who need a boost to become productive citizens.
    • House of Faith is a non-denominational street ministry project, active in many of the poorer neighborhoods and among unchurched youth of San Angelo. My Sunday School class at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church has long had a special, active and supporting role in that ministry, of which I am quite proud.
